The Sidecar (Standard)

Can you tell I've been really into sidecars lately? I don't generally drink brandy all that frequently, but I really enjoy this classic combo of sweet, sour, and citrus. This drink lends itself well to variations, but here's the standard.

The Sidecar

from The Joy of Mixology

(makes one serving)

1.5 oz. brandy or cognac
1 oz. triple sec
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
lemon or orange peel for garnish

- Combine all liquid ingredients in cocktail shaker.
- Rim chilled cocktail glasses with sugar.
- Shake and pour liquid ingredients into chilled cocktail glasses and garnish.
