Honey-Soy Porkchops
This is for that night when you just don't want to think, you don't want to work at it, but you still want to come away with a home-cooked meal for two. One of the first easy dishes I learned beyond spaghetti and stirfry.
Honey-Soy Porkchops
Serves 2
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 bone-in pork chops
1/4 cup water
1/8 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. honey
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
pinch ground pepper
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Chop onion.
- Heat oil over medium heat and brown pork chops on each side (about 1 or 2 minutes on each). Transfer to baking dish big enough to fit both chops.
- In a bowl, mix water, soy sauce, honey, onion, ginger, and pepper together with a whisk. Pour over pork chops.
- Bake for 30 minutes max.
- Start rice and prepare salad (if you like) while chops are baking. Spoon sauce from chops over rice when serving.
