The Blue Note
This relatively basic gin cocktail has had countless names and variations. We decided to sass it up with yet another name and these incredible guitar-shaped ice cubes. The trays were a recent gift from my two cousins and I wanted a good excuse to show them off. I added a little blue food coloring to the ice cubes to give this cocktail its new name.
The Blue Note
for 3 drinks
5 shots gin
1 1/2 shots simple syrup
1/2 shot orange curacao
juice of 1/2 lemon
several dashes of bitters
tonic water
- Combine all ingredients (minus tonic water) and shake.
- Pour into three lowball classes over rocks.
- Top off with tonic water and stir.
- Garnish with lemon peel and cherry.
*Note, in the event you have these stunning guitar ice cubes, do not add additional ice. Pour into glasses, add tonic water, and use the guitar to stir.
These sound tasty ;) And I like those ice trays. No lime though?
ReplyDelete- Grady
Good call, Grady - some lime would probably be nice too - the lemon alone didn't really cut the sweet stuff enough.
