Eggplant-palooza!
I finally downloaded pictures! From the summer! Not only will this aid the increase of upcoming posts, but if you look back at previous posts (hint, hint, look back!) you will notice the appearance of pretty pretty pictures.
In the meantime, here is documentation of the Kylie/Megan Eggplant-Palooza of 2010 (Part 1?). Mind you, I had over 18 hours of class that weekend (plus homework), so Megan took care of a lot of the fun and we took a few shortcuts. First, there was the roasted eggplant and garlic...
...that became part of Megan's amazing eggplant dip based on the Laotian eggplant in my Green Mangoes and Lemongrass cookbook, accompanied by guacamole (with Alfonso!), tortilla chips, and toasted pita slices...
and also accompanied by my blackberry gimlets (eggplant-colored?).
We then used storemade pizza dough (ahem, shortcut) to make pizza with mozzarella, heirloom tomato, prosciutto, white eggplant, and homemade pesto (ahem, homemade!).
Then we tried to watch "Sunshine Cleaning" until we decided that this so-called dark comedy was just dark, and the eggplant had made us too happy to be interested. End scene. For now.
